I’m Shadow, dyer, knitter, and occasional felter. I love to work to order, conjuring new colourways, exploring new patterns and creating for you! I am the fibre artist, photographer, editor, customer service, parcel wrapper, dogsbody, dishwasher and cook behind Felt Fusion, with occasional help from my husband and teen boys. And I love it!
I started my woolly journey several years ago, needle felting and wet felting and after many months of practise for family and friends I opened my Etsy shop, Felt Fusion. In July 2009 I taught myself to knit. With the Stitch n Bitch book, an Addi turbo, some pretty yarn and a pattern printed from Ravelry, I sat in a tent, in the rain in Wales and that was it – I was hooked. About a year later, after exhausting the knitting for family and friends and getting tired of knitting only for my boys, I branched out, bought some pattern licenses/obtained permissions to sell and added knits to my Etsy store and started taking customs. I now have an extensive range of licenses/permissions and am always adding to it as I see things that I have to have a go at, but have no-one to knit them for.
In April 2013 I thought we’d have a play with some yarns and acid dyes. I’d been home educating my children for a number of years and it seemed like a fun thing to learn together. Needless to say I caught the bug big time…and here I am, having a wonderful time dyeing for you lovely lot.
